As the transfer deadline approached, the club sought to reduce cost by off loading a number of players. Kevin Cooper was sold to Wolves while Gareth Aiinsworth, Paul Heald, Michael Hughes, Paul Robinson, Wayne Gray, Alan Kimble and Ian Selley went out on loan. It meant a start for 19 year old Lionel Morgan against Rotherham and he celebrated by curling in a wonderful free kick after 17 minutes. Both sides had openings in the second half but the Dons held on to record a win

"It was a magnificent goal - Beckham-esque - and if he continues to score goals like that then other clubs will be sniffing around him,. Murdoch commented. I was happy with the 1-0 win - five more of those will do us this season.
