Desperate to get back on the winning trail after the Ilford debacle, Roy Henderson came into the Wimbledon side in place of the injured Vic Bird, Arthur Parsons returned in goal and Pat Field replaced Bill Cousins at full-back. After an even first half Woking emerged for the second half and scored two quick goals, leaving the hosts with a mountain to climb. The Dons replied strongly and after Jack Wallis and Harry Stannard had levelled the scores, the Cards ‘keeper Towers was forced to keep his side in the game in the last quarter.
