A half-back who started in the Strollers team towards the end of the 1946/47 season, making his debut for the reserves in the final game of that term.

Made his senior debut at Romford in October 1947 and had a short run in the side, culminating in the F.A. Cup first round 0-1 defeat to Mansfield Town. Lost his place when captain Ken Lister returned to the team after injury and returned to the junior teams, playing one final game for the first team the following season before joining Metropolitan Police.
