Phil Summerill
(1977/78 - 1978/79)
After an apprenticeship at Birmingham City in 1964, Phil Summerill enjoyed a long and successful league career with the Blues, where he once scored a Division Two hat-trick against Hull City in seven minutes, Huddersfield Town and Millwall, where he was player of the year in 1974-75. With Wimbledon struggling in the club's first season as a Football League club, Allen Batsford snapped up the veteran striker on a free transfer in September 1977 and he scored on his debut against Northampton Town - the Dons first victory as a 4th Division club.

He scored four times in 21 league games while at Plough Lane before he moved to Tooting and Mitcham in December 1978. He went onto play for several non league clubs in the Midlands before returning to Birmingham City as a football development officer.
