Despite the off-field drama of the previous week, the Dons cruised to a record victory against a poor Chessington side.

Once Ryan Gray opened the scoring in the fifth minute, finishing a delightful ball from Cooper with a great first time finish into the roof of the net, the result was never in doubt. Thereafter goals rained in from all angles as Wimbledon hammered home their superiority with eight further goals.

It was three-nil by half-time as Cooper netted the second after good work by Sullivan and Bolger drove in the third from Sheerin's backheel.

In the second half, Gray notched a second from a Sullivan cross, Sheerin converted an Everard knockdown, Cooper bundled one in at the near-post after a defensive mix-up, Danny Oakins flicked the ball in on the line from an Everard header, Bolger hammered a shot home from the edge of the box and Cooper completed the scoring and his hat-trick from 15 yards in injury time.
