AFC Wimbledon eased into the next round of the FA Trophy with an ulimately comfortable victory over Southern League, Midland Division Dunstable Town.

Two years ago, the same team were beaten by Rob Ursell's hat-trick, but that was a Dunstable team on the slide. Now they are on the up and they presented a far better test than previously.

Only keeper Paul Taylor was in the Dunstable squad for both matches and for the Dons Anthony Howard was the only player to make both games, so there can be little more comparison between the two games.

Simon Sweeney in for Luke Garrard at right back was the only change from the midweek defeat of Leyton, and the Dons lined up 4-4-2 towards the West Bank at the start.

And what a start. Straight from the kick-off Byron Bubb and Paul Barnes combined to force the latter into the box, although his pass across goal was intercepted. Within a minute Wes Daly had fashioned space for a stinging snapshot from twenty yards that Taylor did well to hold. Barnes was soon back in action, driving onto Michael Haswell's free-kick before crashing a shot goal-bound that was deflected over for a corner. The corner, from the keeper's left, found it's way through to the back post and Barnes smashed it into the roof of the net.

With still only four minutes on the clock, it was almost 2-0. Andy Little's quick throw-out found Barnes. He quickly switched it right to left via Wes Daly and Byron Bubb surged forward, crossing towards the back post where Barnes had continued his run. Only a desperate block kept the score down.

With an hour gone, Dave Anderson switched Luke Garrard into the middle of the park in place of Daly. Within two minutes he combined on the right with Steve Wales and, when the ball broke loose near the touchline, crossed it towards the box. Wales himself won the header between two defenders and then reacted quickest to touch in Roscoe Dsane. His first touch took the ball past the outstretched leg of a defender, but the same leg blocked the striker's path. Penalty. Steve Watson handed the ball purposefully to Dsane and he put all memory of last weekend's miss to bed with his customary cool finish into the corner. 2-0.

Ross Hanley pulled one back with just over twenty minutes to go, finding space just outside the box to curl one inside Little's left hand post.
