AFC Wimbledon crashed out of the Surrey Senior Cup last night as Ryman Division One South side Whyteleafe continued their cup hoodoo over Terry Brown's side.

An under-strength Dons side failed to break down Dave Swindlehurst's men over 120 minutes of football and eventually fell 4-3 on penalties.

Tuesday night's away defeat is the second time the Croydon-based side have knocked the Dons out of a cup competition this season after beating the Kingsmeadow side 2-0 in the Westview Cup in October.

On a brighter note for boss Brown, both Marcus Gayle and Richard Jolly stepped up their recoveries from injury in the defeat.
