The Dons Ladies put in another impressive performance with a good home win over Aylesford.

Having played the reverse fixture only last weekend, it was hardly surprising that Aylesford were aware of The Dons strengths. The visitors came to ATS with a defensive set up, trying to thwart on-form Bisson and strike partner Whelan. However the Dons squad again proved too strong, as Captain Jess Trimnell picked up her first competitive goal since joining in the summer, along with another two goals from Bisson and Whelan.

Three changes from last weekend's team sheet saw Cindy Colliver, Lauren Carnell and Fleur R start the game. The Dons opened the scoring after only 11 minutes, controlling much of the ball, and most of the attacking opportunities. The Dons continued to apply plenty of pressure on the visitors, and only spirited defending kept the score to 1-0. With good organisation and a high work rate, Wimbledon controlled the first half, and it had been a professional performance so far.

The Dons started the second half in much the same manner, taking the game to the opposition. Creating plenty of chances, it was only a matter of time before the Wimbledon scored again. In the 52nd minute Bisson broke free to score her 22nd goal of the season, then seven minutes later Whelan scored Wimbledon's 3rd goal, which finally broke the spirit of Aylesford.

Around 60 minutes manager Lyons made three changes in short succession, with Ellen Martin coming on for Jordanne Hoesli-Atkins; Libby Suchley and Linsey Clarke coming on for Alysha Frampton and Fleur R. Such was the impact of Clarke that she was named Dons best player by Aylesford.
Despite the defensive set up from the visitors, the Dons created a lot of chances, and on another day could easily have doubled their score. Only a fine display from the visitors goalkeeper, kept the score at a respectable level.
It was another good performance for the Ladies, as they enter the Christmas break with a solid place in the LSERs top four. They are now only one point off their highest ever points tally in the LSER, placing the second half of the season as a significant time for Dons Ladies.
