The Dons Ladies came into this match in a good run of form.

Wimbledon had been humiliated 9-0 in last season's County Cup fixture and were keen to gain a little revenge. Manager Chris Lyons prepared the team well and they came into the fixture with a definite 'game plan'.

Wimbledon again started brightly and Emma Keady flicked home a Libby Suchley corner from close range after 6 minutes of play.

Wimbledon continued to dominate possession and Emma Keady, Caz Bisson, Libby Suchley and Jess Trimnell all had chances to extend the lead. Crystal Palace appeared stunned and did not have a shot on goal until 25 minutes had been played. The Dons continued to control the middle of the field Rebecca Sargent also had a shot drift wide from another Suchley corner.

Crystal Palace finally became more dominant and their pressure resulted in a number of corners towards the end of the first period, but Wimbledon's defence remained unbroken.

In a further attempt to gain some possession Jade Davenport replaced Alma Donohoe after 42 minutes.

The second period started and Linsey Clarke ran down the right and fired a shot goalwards, which was saved by Sam Saint.

In the 49th minute the ball was played forward by Crystal Palace, bounced up striking Libby Suchley on the arm, but Referee Keith Glover deemed it accidental and amid baying calls from Crystal Palace players, coaching staff and a number of visiting fans play continued.

Sian Wylie was replaced by Bianca Walker to give added height to the Dons strike force after 54 minutes of play.

Crystal palace made a number of changes rotating their squad and Steph Mann and Mary Oniamwa joined the contest.

Play was now ebbing and flowing from end to end, but Dons defense remained steadfast. Crystal Palace were becoming more and more frustrated and continued to rotate personnel, Sophie Kemp taking the field and Becky Strutt also running out.

At the start of injury time, and with Crystal Palace pressing for a goal, the ball was cleared from the back and Caz Bisson showed her blistering pace rounding Sam Saint and slotted the ball home amid jubilant scenes.
