Still fielding three reserves, the Dons nonetheless returned to winning ways against St Albans at Plough Lane. A large Boxing Day crowd enjoyed the sight of the returning Gauntlett going close before Clarke fired the hosts in front. Two more goals, shortly after the half hour mark, put Wimbledon in complete control and there was little excitement in a disappointing second half.
