Agoal scored a minute from time saw Wimbledon go down to their first defeat against St Albans since 1939. With the Dons fielding an almost entirely second string side and the hosts playing six reserves it proved to be s a drab end-of-season game dominated by defences. A header from Saints centre forward Greenoff and a drive from Charlie Smith were the nearest either side came to breaking the deadlock before the interval. Afterwards the hosts were on top and Parsons did well to save efforts from both Greenoff and Croucher but he had taken a knock before he was finally beaten by a Prior shot that went into the roof of the net. Youngsters Digweed, Harry Wallis and Clark starred for the visitors. |
