Ex Bishop Auckland player B.K. Twigg was selected after a job in London lead him to sign forms for the Dons, but he failed to turn up and another seemingly random collection of players took on their local rivals in the final home game of the season.

Hamlet scored the first, and only, goal of the first moiety, Beglin driving a left foot shot just inside the post which Haydock, diving across goal, was able to get a hand to, but unable to stop it entering the goal.

Wimbledon had the upper hand in the second half, but Finch missed two golden chanced to score before Birkbeck finally equalised, following up to rebound Hall’s clearance off the line back into the net with the keeper out of position. Hall again saved off the line, this time illegally from Fuce, but Jones shot the resultant penalty straight at the keeper. Ten minutes from the end Beglan put in a free-kick from thirty yards out that Haydock misjudged and it went straight in.
