0 - 11
Wimbledon
Tom Laker (5), Ron Head (2), Harry Stannard (2), Pat Edelston (2)

Cannon was unavailable, so Len Wallis stepped up from the reserves for his debut and Nash's return meant the forward line was restored to full strength. St. Albans had only managed three points from six matches, but the three coach-loads of visiting supporters could never have expected what was to unfold at Clarence Park.

The Dons' forward were rampant from the first attack after only four minutes, Stannard crossing for Head to open the scoring. Nash put in a shot that the keeper pushed onto the crossbar, Edelston's follow-up was charged down and Head put the rebound over. Twenty-five minutes in Stannard cleverly controlled a long throw from Douglas with his right and shot with his left, Hobern saved at the expense of a corner, but Laker headed in the kick. The home defence switched tactics to the offside trap, but Wimbledon worked it out quickly enough and put in several more
shots before Stannard flicked on a corner from Nash and Laker's diving header found the net for number three. Head had one cleared off the line after Stannard had lobbed the keeper before Edelston followed up a shot from Nash for the fourth.

The second half was one-way traffic. A few minutes after the re-start Laker easily completed his hat-trick from another Nash corner and soon after the same player crossed for Head to increase the lead further. Edelston put in Stannard for number seven after a cross from Laker and Edelston then put pressure on the keeper as he attempted to gather Nash's centre and Laker was on hand to net his fourth and the Dons' eighth. Edelston himself got the next and Laker made it double-figures with a fifth of his own just before the end. Stannard completed the rout with a fine individual goal, beating several opponents before coolly shooting past Hobern for a spectacular finish to a record-breaking victory.
