Wimbledon were unchanged for their third visit of the season to Kingfield.

Woking started in a lively fashion and took the lead through Peskett from the penalty spot after eight minutes when Wallace was brought down. They kept the lead for only two minutes, Head heading home following a scrimmage in the Woking area. Both sides looked dangerous, but Head put the Dons ahead with a lovely drive with just over half an hour gone. Two minutes later Haydock saved when Short had him one on one and Boxall had a goal disallowed in favour of a Woking free-kick. Three minutes before the interval the home side’s persistence was rewarded when Wallace hooked the ball into the net for the equaliser.

Laker should have put the Dons ahead in the first minute of the second period, tapping the ball around Eastaff only for Reeves to dive in and clear at the last moment. Then Laker again beat the keeper and lobbed him with. With the Dons’ fans already celebrating Preskett got back and managed to put the ball over the bar. Short wasted a good opportunity at the other end, shooting straight at Haydock. Ten minutes from the end Edelston cut into a pass from Laker and gave Eastaff no chance with a left foot drive which caused some of the crowd to leave, thinking the tie was decided, but a few minutes from time Short put Woking level with a shot through a crowd of player to force extra time.

Extra time consisted of ten minutes in each direction and soon after it had started Stannard finished off a nice move down the right from close range. Woking made a determined effort to pull the scores level in the second spell of added time, but were disadvantaged by an injury to their clergyman inside-right and Wimbledon held out for victory.
