Started his senior career at Dulwich Hamlet but soon moved to local rivals Nunhead where he spent five years there, captaining their reserve tean.

Joined Wimblwson at the start of November 1927 BNS had a brief run in the first team towards the end of the season - scoring a hat-trick on his debut against Woking and going on the Easter tour to Holland, before he returned to Nunhead at the start of the 1928/29 season. Played for the Ministy of Pensions in the Civil Service Cup Final before moving on to Bromley, for who he played against Wimbledon in 1929/30. Again returned to Nunhead but was reportedly suspended sine die by them after being sent off in a reserve team match against Tufnell Park in 1931 - however he was still playing there in 1935...
